In a world where the pressures of daily life often weigh heavily on our minds, the importance of mental health cannot be overstated. The Mental Health Foundation, the UK’s leading charity dedicated to everyone’s mental well-being, understands this all too well. Their mission is to promote good mental health for all and address the sources of mental health problems, so that individuals and communities can thrive. Today, we want to shine a spotlight on their invaluable work and one extraordinary effort to support their cause.

Business Computer Solutions Takes a Leap
At Business Computer Solutions, we believe in giving back to the community. In line with our commitment to raising awareness about mental health, our Managing Director, Martin, is embarking on an exhilarating adventure that will leave you both in awe and inspired. On the 14th of September 2023, Martin will be taking a daring leap of faith by skydiving in Maidstone, all to support the Mental Health Foundation.
Read below a word from Martin on his expectations for the dive and why this cause is important to him.
Thoughts from Martin:
When the team asked if I would be up for jumping out of a plane to raise money for the Mental Health Foundation, I knew it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, albeit the prospect is somewhat daunting to me! However, it’s such a great cause and we’ve reached the target amount, so no going back now!
Many of us have busy lives, and it’s easy to become complacent and forget how lucky we are when we have our health – whether that be physical or mental. One thing we can’t do is sit by and assume that we as individuals don’t have the power to help and support those that are not quite so fortunate.
There are lots of great causes and charities out there and plenty of platforms, like JustGiving, that make the process of collecting money simple. It doesn’t take much imagination to think of an activity for people to get behind – and if you need some inspiration, there are plenty of sources online that will help.
I have seen sponsored runs, swims, even sponsored shaves work quite well in raising money for charitable causes. Some of us have wide networks and as I learned, raising money for a good cause can be easier than you think, and it doesn’t have to involve high risk activities like jumping out of planes!
As part of this process, I have challenged myself to look at more ways I can help support worthwhile causes on a more regular basis and I hope to at least inspire a few others to do the same.
